I have arrived!

I'm here!
I thought I would give you all a quick blog post on my holiday so far. After two long days travelling from place to place and a brief but lovely visit with family in Liverpool I've arrived in Portugal safe and sound. I wore my new H&M patterned trousers with a navy/black blocked shirt (also from H&M) for travelling. This is the perfect getaway outfit as it is light and comfortable - exactly what you need when on a plane for nearly 3 hours. After a turbulent flight and with the expectation of feeling the overwhelming heat when making that first step off the plane I was sadly disappointed and brought to realisation when greeted with the cool wind. Fortunately the weather is set to improve tomorrow and I've even heard it is even meant to hit above 30 throughout the week. All is good that ends well so they say! I'm off to a BBQ tonight in the local bar and I'm looking forward to having some Portuguese cuisine.
Hope everyone is having a great week!

Life's A Beach

Today is the beginning of ten long days in the sunshine for me. I will catch a plane to England this evening and from there I will fly to Portugal. I'm beyond excited to spend the next few days soaking up the Portuguese sun. Every year I go to the same small village in Portugal with my papa and I have to admit every year I enjoy it that little bit more. It is the perfect place to relax and detox from the world. This year will be a bit different for me as I now have my blog and a brand new professional camera to work with. I'm really looking forward to taking some sunny outfit posts for my little chamber and you of course! I will also make sure to keep up to date with my Els Chamber Facebook page and instagram.

Keep watch!

Summer Shopping

On Sunday I'm jetting off to Portugal for a bit of TLC and sunshine. I thought it was time to get my summer wardrobe in full swing and so I started ordering some bits. I ordered from the website Boohoo for the first time and I was so impressed by the shipping. It was not only fast and free but the tracking system is excellent. I ordered a gorgeous pair of brown sandals and I will definitely use the site again.
I've been following the Little Red Vintage Liverpool shop for sometime now and I couldn't resist purchasing some pieces for my holiday. I will be posting photos of my outfits throughout my time in Portugal via my Els Chamber Facebook page, Instagram and the blog itself.
I also took a trip into our trusty fave, Penny's (Primark), and I found a couple fab beach cover up's and a cool fringe bikini set which I am sure I will make great use out of for my beach trips and tanning sessions by the pool.

Stay tuned for all my Portugal outfit posts! Sunshine and summer pics, what more does a reader want ;)

London Vintage

On Sunday I wore my extra cool London vintage jacket/top. I got this fab jacket in Absolute Vintage on Brick Lane. Brick Lane really has it all when it comes to vintage shopping from a never ending selection of shoes to decades of style beyond my years. I styled this blue/white almost sailor looking jacket with white trousers from River Island and Jeffrey Campbell heels. I also wore a gold necklace from my Grandma's jewellery box to finish off the outfit. The bowler hat is from Topshop. Fashion is something we are given four times a year but style is what makes us unique. You can follow all the latest fashion trends but that doesn't make you a style goddess. Create your own style!

Yesterday I arrived home to find my brand new 'Els Chamber' business cards had arrived in the post. The design is by the lovely and very talented Sabrina Kelly artist and the template and printing came from the website Zazzle. I'm delighted with the end result and I'm so looking forward to start giving them out to all of you!

Summer Wedding

Looking for the perfect dress to wear at a summer wedding? Look no further as this Spanish brand, Almatrichi, have summer wedding bells calling your name. All the dresses above are from the Almatrichi Spring/Summer 2013 range. I first came upon this fabulous make in the boutique I work in, Olivia Boutique. We stock a small selection from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection and I have to say the dresses are even more gorgeous in person. The materials are exquisite and so are the designs. A bit pricey but 100% worth it for that special occasion plus Almatrichi is a dress for life! It's time to treat yourself <3

Vintage gowns from Lucy In Disguise, London.

The weather may be desperate and there isn't much I can do to help out with mother nature but I can most definitely help all you prom girls find the perfect vintage gown needed for the ball. I've been researching for a couple of days now and I have chosen my top gorgeous vintage dresses and where you can find each one to buy just for my readers. Personally I believe that when looking for a vintage dress it's best to think outside of the box and not to look in your usual clothing websites or stores. Vintage shops from all around the world most likely have a Facebook page and that's a great way to start. What I usually do is research the best vintage shops in an area, for example, London, New York, Dublin, etc, and from there I find a list of let's say the 10 best vintage shops in ... and I will then find each shop on Facebook. More than likely their Facebook page is updated quite regularly with photos of their stock. I have found that most Facebook pages for vintage boutiques offer a phone number or email address. If you have seen something you can't imagine living without you could try order over the phone or get an invoice emailed to you and pay through paypal. I've done it plenty of times! It's quick and easy. Another website I have found which is great for vintage hunting is Etsy. Etsy is the "world's most vibrant handmade marketplace". The site offers its users a chance to buy and sell handmade or vintage items, art and supplies. It has hundreds of pages of vintage dresses that are definitely prom potential. Vintage shopping is the best shopping because you never know what you are going to find. For me I feel like a kid in a candy store or going downstairs on Christmas Day and the excitement of what's beneath all that wrapping paper.
If anyone needs anymore help or ideas feel free to contact me by emailing me at elschamberblog@gmail.com or mailing me on the Els Chamber facebook page.

Remember to think outside of the box. Don't think it's only prom or it's only that occasion, it's not, it's that once chance for you to wear that one dress that stands out from everyone else. Take it!

Be different!
